The commissioning owner’s brief was for a yacht perfect for cruising as well under sail as under power at up to 12 knots – back in the day known the “50/50” concept. He’d come to the right place; that was Jack Laurent Giles’ forte, and that's what AITOR does. Blessed with spacious and comfortable accommodation, she has retained most of her original fittings and layout in teak joinery below and a large deck saloon which offers an exceptional view of the sea. AITOR is currently used as a mother ship for a classic racing yacht and is perfect for this purpose serving as a floating home which can go anywhere – in huge style!

LAURENT GILES DESIGN No. 448
ASTILLEROS VIUDES YARD No. 62
AITOR is an iconic yacht in the "Royal Club Nautico" Barcelona. In 1962 she was commissioned by Spanish steel magnate Federico Luzuriaga. Built at Astilleros Viudes in Barcelona she is of cold moulded wood timber construction. The ribs were rolled in situ and taken from the mould for fitting and cleaning before final fixing. More recently the yacht has been restored taking fully into account the record of communication between Jack Laurent Giles and her first owner and the building boat yard reports at that time so every aspect was considered in proper detail.
