BROKER'S COMMENTS

VERITAS I is an incredibly attractive yacht built by Abeking and Rasmussen to a quality that was very hard to match in 1962. Since then this boat has proved herself in boisterous Trade Wind conditions and while much maintenance work has been done on her over the last couple of years, she is substantially the original yacht – her layout and equipment preserved with the addition only of new electronics and modern conveniences. She is now priced realistically for a new owner to make her perfect.

History

VERITAS I, designed by Henry Rasmussen was originally launched as KAYE, having been built at the Abeking and Rasmussen yard in Bremen for a French client. She was subsequently sold to a young American heiress, who took her to Boston renaming her VERITAS, in honour of Harvard University, whose motto it is. More recently VERITAS I has been an active participant in the Antigua classic among other Caribbean regattas.
